Are we climbing Jacobs ladders'
When life brings us to go and do it
Cops and robbers amongst others
Were games we played through it
Gypsy, she kept us well at night
Plastic trees and plastic swords
Dukes guard well spared us fright
Plastic men and their elastic words
Coastline called you ran I followed
Leather tassles and grape soup
Free from that which had control
And time for some to fly the coup
Bloody bonds were cut and tied
Time and again without retort
Rocks and ale that spewed and lied
Made us believe that it was comfort
Pictures and lines, endless pages
And stupid words that tend to drift
Telephone calls and empty promises
Is what we're left with to deal with
