Curl

Plaid lines and tunnel vision
Not but to cry out in pain
A ragged man in kindergarten
Trying to learn and live in vain

Afraid to step out from comfort
While watching hard candy shrink
The tiniest tasks require more effort
And he uses his blood for his ink

His thickening fear is a thread
One of many, for and icy web
Blue, tired eyes still seeking hope
So many times should he have fled

A solace carrot dangles jokingly
On and on is the human election
Fevers break and come again
In his maniacal well of deception

Pinhole light, end of the tunnel
So far, but he knows it's all true
Heavenly bed is waiting for sleep
Yet first he has hell to go through
